Where Do China and Russia Stand After the Operation Against Venezuela’s President?
Since the moment the United States captured Venezuela’s president in a military operation, one question has been echoing in many minds: what will China and Russia’s response be?
According to informed observers, the very first question for China and Russia is this:
where do Venezuela’s vice president, the regime, and the military actually stand?
If there were no prior understanding between Venezuela’s regime and the United States, such an operation would seem almost impossible. That is precisely why the world has been shocked by this development. In these circumstances, it becomes unavoidable to consider that some form of understanding must have existed between Washington and the current Venezuelan regime. And if such an understanding was in place, then any practical action by China or Russia in support of Venezuela appears extremely unlikely.
However, Trump’s move has certainly handed a justification to both China and Russia — a justification to carry out similar actions against their own adversaries, wherever they choose.
For Russia, that front could be Ukraine.
For China, it could be Taiwan.
Trump and his supporters may celebrate this move for now, but in reality, they have shattered the global deterrent of state dignity and national sovereignty. The consequences of this recklessness may ultimately be paid by America’s own allies — Ukraine and Taiwan.
The current trajectory is pushing the world toward an unstable and confrontational future.
