Contest of Multipolar and Unipolar World and IMCTC

This fast-changing global battleground is emerging some interesting development on the 21st century horizon, and Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition IMCTC is one of them. For the time being the future impact of this coalition is not clear but it might become the game changer between the Multipolar and Unipolar world contest.

Why IMCTC?                                

After collision and collapses of Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen and emerging of ISIS and such a kind of strange and terrorized military organization with suspicions background and their power of destabilization of the regional countries have been worried the regional rulers. The question arises from this happening was “Who is behind all of this and why they are emerging in presence of powerful American-NATO war machinery in the region?”. The machinery established in the region to rectify thread of terror and ensure stability and security. This question enforced regional state rulers to think and become on the following conclusion;
  1. Either American-NATO force is incapable of understanding and overcoming the new emerging terror wave or their role is suspicions in this matter (although they never expressed it).
  2. The regional security policy was out of their own control, due to dependence on the foreign role in regional security.
  3. To overcome it they need to take over the regional security policy.
  4. For that, they need their own war machinery that ensure their own policy implementation.
  5. So that needs a regional platform and organization, treaty etc. to establish
This conclusion led them to the formation of IMCTC.


The Global contest of control over Trade Route

The global contest of Multipolar and Unipolar world over the control of world trade routes is the most focal contest of 21st century. China’s One Belt One Road OBOR  along with Russian coordination and American lead Asian “Quad” (US, India, Japan and Australia) are the main competitor in this contest. The contest is to control over main trade route passing through the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.


In the context of this global contest, the new IMCTC is emerging at the strategically critical path of this route that covers Arabian Sea, Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea and the primary purpose of this coalition is to ensure the security of the region.

Although this is a speculation that this military alliance is forming against Iran and Saudi Arabia rivalry against Iran is behind all ‘this and that’. But recently we witnessed Pakistani COAS visit to Iran and his engagement with key Iranian leadership including Ayatollah Khamenei, Hasan Rohani, Iranian military and Revolutionary guard leaders before the first summit of IMCTC in Riyadh. Iranian silence over this summit, which is against her previous stance against the military coalition. This is showing some back-door diplomacy to clearing Iranian reservations for this coalition and give Iran some assurance that this will not against Iran (keep in mind Pakistan Ex COAS Raheel Sharif is Chief of this military coalition).

If the IMCTC is emerged successfully with its endeavor to take control of regional security on their own hands, this will be very important for American and her allied as well as Russian-China to get in a better relationship with IMCTC to win the contest of Trade Route Control…
